A full-blown war is underway between Iran and Israel. Israel started hitting Iranian nuclear sites on June 13. The Israeli forces including the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) eliminated top Iranian commanders. This was followed by a major overnight retaliation by Iran as Ayatollah Khamenei-led forces launched barrage of missiles on Tel Aviv and surrounding areas. Since then, the West Asian nations who had been fighting a long-term proxy war via Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Israel-occupied Gaza have come face-to-face. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims that his country is launching a preemptive war in a bid to stop Iran from building nuclear weapons. On the other hand Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said that, “We are by no means seeking to expand the war”. Israel has claimed to have aerial superiority over Iran. Palki Sharma tells you more.
