Revealed: The CCP’s Extrajudicial Sanctions | A History and Reality of Assassinations and Atrocities
Over the past three days, Lao Du has received the same message from several heavyweight figures—three images bearing the striking title: “Further Revelations from Li Song, Coordinator of the Li Keqiang Assassination Squad.”
They all asked the exact same question: “Lao Du, is this real?”
My answer was also uniform: “Heh.”
Real or fake? Could this possibly be real? At most, it’s a low-budget fantasy story that doesn’t even scratch the surface. Its quality is akin to the time when a few Chinese farmers carved a “United Nations” seal from a radish and used it to try and spring someone from prison. A completely illogical, counterintuitive “masterpiece.”
The laughable thing about this kind of fake news is that it doesn’t cover up the truth—it severely distorts judgment. Its creators know almost nothing about how the CCP’s internal power structure operates; they just rely on wild imagination to cobble together a leak-ridden, logically incoherent “exposé.” Simply put, it’s clueless fabrication that gets more absurd the more it tries.
And yet, things like this spread widely within certain circles, forcing me to patiently explain over and over: “If the CCP really wanted to carry out an assassination, would it do it this way? If there really were an assassination squad, would the coordinator be named Li Song?” Remember, such operations never use real names—only code names. That’s basic security protocol. And how could it possibly be the Public Security Bureau? It would have to be State Security or Military Protection, and it wouldn’t be a joint operation. Most crucially, assassinating Li Keqiang would be an extremely high-level mission—how could it be connected to something as low-tier as the Myawaddy telecom scam? It’s utterly preposterous—a global joke. And so on.
Later I thought: instead of explaining it individually each time, why not just do an episode and make it clear—while also introducing the real, historically existing covert units of the CCP that specialize in assassination and extrajudicial punishment, such as the “Central Special Branch,” the “Red Squad,” and the external operations and action teams of the national security apparatus. You’ll see that the real darkness isn’t something a clumsy screenwriter could ever dream up.
And that’s what today’s episode is all about.
